Sponsor a research assistant

Sponsor a Research Assistant: $5,000 – $10,000

Every researcher needs a team of scientists working with him or her to conduct their work. One of the key players on the research team is the research assistant or postdoctoral scientist (postdoc).

In the Hearing Restoration Project, postdocs carry out of most of the experiments. In any given week, they might be preparing tissue from the ear, doing molecular biological analysis of the genes involved in regeneration, experimentally deafening animals or carrying out bioinformatic analysis of DNA or RNA sequences obtained in our experiments. Postdocs usually spend 3-6 years in a lab, publishing with the chief investigator. These papers will be their “calling card” when they apply to become independent investigators in the future.

Your sponsorship provides you the opportunity to kick start a young researchers’ career and give them the chance to work side-by-side with one of the brightest minds studying hair cell regeneration in the country.

Your sponsorship would also allow you to meet the research assistant or postdoc and receive updates on the work they are conducting at the lab. Your sponsorship would also be highlighted on Hearing Health Foundation’s website, Facebook and Twitter channels, and monthly e-newsletter.
